La parte montuosa e' ricoperta dalla flora propia dell'Appennino; bellissimi boschi nei quali prevalgono l'abete bianco, il faggio e il castagno offrono ampi spaziverdi solcati da sorgenti, ruscelli e zone ricche di suggestione e di storia. A 1060 metri sul livello del mare si incontra Ferdinandea, tenuta borbonica immersa in un'oasi boschiva che offre aria salutare e refrigerio. A quota 1250 m sorge l'acqua della Mangiatorella apprezzata per le qualita oligominerali. | ||
| Dirigendosi verso valle il territorio presenta rilievi rocciosi alternati a piani coltivati ad uliveti e vigneti. Tra una montagna incontaminata e il caldo Mar Ionjo si estende una fascia collinare su cui si ergono antichi e bellissimi borghi. | |||

The maintainous area is characterised by its typical Apennine flora; beautiful woods of silver fir, beech and chestnut, forming green Open spaces, with torrents and springs here and there cutting a swathe througn the lush Vegetation; this is an area rich in both natural and historical interest. At about 1060 metres above sea level we come to the Ferdinandea Estate, a Bourbon construction immersed in a woody oasis offering the visitor health fresh air. | ||
| At 1250 metres we find the Mangiatorella natural spring, renowned for its light waters. Moving on down into the valley, the landscape changes to one of rocky heights interwoven with cultivated areas, dotted with olive trees and vines. Stilo e' tra le cittadine piu' interessanti della Calabria per le testimonianze medievali e barocche. E' nota per aver dato i natali al filosofo Tommaso Campanella, autore della "La Citta' del Sole". Testimonianza principale del periodo bizantino e' "La Cattolica", bellissimo tempietto del IX a pianta quadrata con cinque cupole. Al Medioevo risale il duomo, abbastanza ben consewato all'esterno con notevole - portale gotico e curiosi, minuscoli bassorilievi Romani e Medioevali inseriti nella facciata. | ||
